Low maintenance deck and pergola combination in Winston Salem NC

This outdoor oasis in Winston-Salem, NC includes a low-maintenance deck and pergola combination, but that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Sometimes when it comes to accurately describing the beauty and function entwined within an outdoor living space, words are not enough. Archadeck of the Piedmont Triad realizes the importance of ensuring the outdoor living space you have in mind works together. Any well-designed outdoor living space with a combination of structures should flow together as one. A good example of this type of outdoor harmony is a project we completed in Winston-Salem. The project consists of a low-maintenance deck, pergola, dualĀ hardscape patios and free-standing garden pergola. Here is a look at the project which proves a picture is worth a thousand words…

This storybook backyard begins with a low-maintenance, AZEK deck in slate gray. The deck is trimmed out with additional AZEK decking in white and framed by elegant black Fortress iron railings.

The deck includes spacious bench steps, floating benches for convenient additional seating, and three built-in custom planters for seasonal color since the homeowners are avid gardeners. The floating benches were also painted underneath to increase their longevity.

The deck is flanked by a stunning white pergola. The pergola was built in low-maintenance aluminum with fiberglass columns. The pergola also contains a polycarbonate roof which extends the UVA and UVB protection to this soothing shade structure.

The deck includes a designated area for dining which can also be cleared of its table in a flash and used for other outdoor activities. Garden party anyone?

As this outdoor oasis continues, the deck gently descends into a stamped concrete patio on both sides of the deck. The patio serves as versatile outdoor living space that can be used for a myriad of outdoor living activities.

As you look into the extended backyard, you will see the graceful form of a detached, free-standing garden pergola. The pergola is perfectly placed within the landscape and includes rocking chairs to further the homeowner’s enjoyment of their beautiful yard and the unique pergola within. The pergola serves as a focal point to the abundant blooms within this backyard which change as the seasons change.
