This Winston Salem porch is ready to party

Archadeck 3-season porch Winston Salem GreensboroJust in time for holiday celebration and entertaining, we finished a really fun 4-season porch upgrade to a deck and home in the Border creek community in Winston Salem. The owners were so jazzed about the addition that they already have Christmas lights adorning the inside and the outside of this outdoor party room and the invitations for the first party are in the mail.

This stunning new Winston Salem porch replaces an existing 12×12 raised deck. The upgrade gives the family plenty of extra space that they can use all year long, either to socialize with friends or to have a relaxing evening among the trees. Stained and pressure-treated timbers were set on a diagonal for the porch flooring, offering both visual interest and a seamless continuity between the porch and the connected open-air deck and staircase.

beautifully decorated screened porch Winston Salem NCThe first thing people notice when they step into the Winston Salem raised porch is how light and airy it is. The open gable roof and triple hung windows are an ideal combination for creating an outdoor space that can be enjoyed in all kinds of weather. The vaulted white vinyl ceiling and fan add to the feel of spaciousness. The deck is perfect for both grilling and for spillover from parties that are too big to be contained on the porch. We replaced a picture window with French doors to create easy traffic flow from home to porch to deck to yard.

This job was a referral from another satisfied area customer. The couple has young sons and knowing our over 20-year track record of quality construction and thoughtful custom design gave them peace of mind that we would take extra care in designing a space that was both functional and safe. To that end, we used modified metal pergola rafters for the porch railings to create the strongest of barriers between child and ground. The clients also loved that we used our talents and experience to create a staircase and landing design that fit stylishly within the area of the deck.
