Eze-Breeze Window Room and Low Maintenance Deck Gives Farmhouse New Lease On Life

Imagine finding your dream home but it is slightly run down at the heels, neglected, and unloved for some time. The house sets on a beautiful piece of land that also needs some tending. Finally when all the contracts are signed and the key is in your hand, now it is

The Before Outdoor Living Space

time to get to work and restore this home to an even greater beauty.  The home’s interior is something you can tackle with the aid of a few tradesmen, but the outside living space is totally weathered and seems ready to collapse.

Eze-Breeze Window Room

This project needed more than a facelift. It needs professional guidance and help. This is where Archadeck of the Piedmont enters the picture. During our information gathering visit we learned the must haves and wishes of the family.  The homeowners have fabulous views of their incredible land. They certainly want to capitalize on the view and achieve maximum outdoor living space at the same time. They also are interested in low maintenance particularly since the back of the home faces south.

They also want to sit outside during all four seasons and enjoy that view.  They chose to add an eze-breeze  window room with an open gable roof allowing the light to stream into the room. The ceiling is a tongue and groove beaded plywood. The floor is also a stained tongue and groove pine flooring.  Railing is needed in the room by building code since the room is so high off the ground. The deck is redecked with AZEK decking for low maintenance. An addition of powder coated aluminum rails in black for the two sets of stairs that offers quick access to the pasture and side yard. This  eze-breeze window room faces south and will get sun all day long.  A ceiling fan will bring in cool air during the summer months when the room becomes a screen porch. This truly is an multi-purpose outdoor living space for all seasons.

The final finished project gives the home owners all they wished for and more.  Now a room exists where the  rickety pergola was plus the home owners can use it as a sunroom in the colder months and a screen porch in the hot months of summer.  A generous sized deck allows for a dining, entertaining space.  Two sets of stairs lead them down to their backyard or into a pasture for a walk about the lovely pastures
